At Jaipur Carpet Studio, we take immense pride in the heritage and quality of our hand-knotted masterpieces. We want you to be completely satisfied with your acquisition. However, due to the intricate handmade nature of our products, our return and refund policies are structured to protect both our artisans and our clients.
1. The Nature of Handmade Rugs
Before initiating a return, please note that our rugs are crafted entirely by hand using natural fibers. Therefore, they are subject to slight variations:
- Color & Texture: Natural dyes and hand-spun wool/silk may exhibit slight tonal variations (abrash). These are not defects but the beautiful signatures of authentic handcrafted art.
- Size Dimensions: A size variation of up to 3-5% is an industry-standard tolerance for hand-knotted rugs and does not qualify as a manufacturing defect.
2. Standard Collection Returns
If you have purchased a rug from our standard, pre-designed catalog (non-customized) and it does not perfectly complement your space, we accept returns under the following conditions:
- The return request must be initiated within 14 days of receiving the delivery.
- The rug must be completely unused, unwashed, free of any stains or pet hair, and in its original showroom condition.
- It must be securely re-packaged in its original protective wrapping to prevent transit damage.
- Return Shipping: The client is responsible for all return shipping and handling costs. We highly recommend using an insured courier service, as we cannot be held liable for items lost or damaged during the return transit.
3. Bespoke & Custom Orders (Non-Returnable)
Customization is the heart of what we do. If a rug is commissioned specifically for you—whether it involves custom sizing, personalized colors, or a completely unique design—it cannot be returned or refunded.
- Once the design is approved, advance payment is made, and the looming process begins, the order is final.
- Refunds or replacements for bespoke orders will only be entertained in the rare event of a severe manufacturing defect or transit damage.
4. Damages and Defects
While we use museum-grade packaging, accidents during global transit can occasionally happen. If your rug arrives damaged or if you discover a genuine manufacturing defect:
- You must contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
- Please provide clear photographs of the packaging exterior and the damaged area of the rug.
- Once verified by our quality assurance team, we will swiftly arrange for a free return pickup. You will be offered a full refund, a free repair, or an exact replacement at no additional cost.
5. The Refund Process
Once your returned rug is received at our Jaipur facility, our experts will inspect it to ensure it meets our return conditions.
- If approved, your refund will be processed within 7-10 business days.
- The amount will automatically be credited back to your original method of payment (Credit Card, Bank Transfer, etc.).
- Please note that original shipping charges (if any) and customs duties/taxes paid during import are strictly non-refundable.
